Anti-ageing resveratrol for heart health, circulation, memory and wrinkles - win a hamper

The anti-ageing effects of red wine, rich in polyphenols and resveratrol have been shown in numerous studies.

For years researchers have debated the anti-ageing benefits of red wine ‘marc’ (skins, seeds and stalks left over after pressing the grapes). Studies showed that polyphenols and proanthocyanidins in the ‘marc’ helped cirsulation, heart disease, memory loss, cell renewal, eye health, wrinkles and stress.

A key chemical that helps ward off degenerative brain conditions in the elderly – resveratrol – is one of the large numbers of polyphenols contained in red wine and in the skin of red grapes. Resveratrol occurs in the vines, seeds and stalks, but mostly in the skin.

Resveratrol, polyphenols and proanthocyanidins have been scientifically shown to have a positive effect on arteries and circulation.

French Parad’ox Plus contains polyphenols, proanthocyanidins and anthocyanosides – all concentrated in the red wine ‘marc’. These potent antioxidants repair cell walls and blood vessels by increasing the body’s oxygen content. Called ‘The French Paradox’, this antioxidant activity was explained as the reason the French lived longer, healthier lives, because they consumed moderate amounts of red wine daily. (Renaud,S. and Delogeril,M.(1992) Wine, alcohol, platelets, and the French Paradox for coronary heart disease. Lancet 339, 1523 to 1526)

Several epidemiological studies at the University of Wisconsin, Cardiology Section, Wisconsin, USA, have been done, in which dietary intake was monitored over 10 – 20 years. Careful analysis of the flavonoids (found in red wine and other grape sources) in the diet of subjects and their medical history was monitored.

“We have studied a number of grape seed or grape skin extracts for platelet inhibitory activity. These were not effective at clinically acceptable doses. However, we demonstrated that 30mg/kg of a commercial preparation called French Parad’ox given once, protected monkeys from acute thrombosis...” (J.D. Folts et al. Inhibition of platelet activity)

Later research from Harvard Medical School identified resveratrol, a key chemical found mainly in the skin of red grapes, as the ingredient that increased the lifespan of obese rats by 31 percent.

French Parad’ox Plus is a formula that contains the full spectrum of polyphenols, proanthocyanidins and standardized resveratrol which work in synergy, promoting longevity.
