The conference, which aims to address a myriad of elephant management issues, arose from the challenges that land owners of small game reserve in minimizing human-elephant conflict.

According to the conference website, elephant management is a particularly complex issue as a result of varying value systems, perspectives, decision makers and technical strategies.

Arising from this complexity is the need to create an integrative process where participants can connect and communicate, being informed by a scientific and well informed basis.

The conference will be attended by well respected local and international speakers and experts on various topics around elephant management and human-elephant interaction.
