With its range of new, environmentally friendly ‘Eco-Drive’ timepieces, Citizen has established a ‘Time 4 Change’ movement.
This collection offers unquestionable sophistication, giving you the confidence to do it all.
Citizen’s progressive Eco-Drive technology harnesses the power of light- from any natural or artificial light source, and converts it into energy.
How does it work?
- Natural and artificial light are absorbed through the dial.
- A special solar cells converts the light into energy.
- Enough energy is stored to power the timepiece, even in the dark, from 135 days to 7 years, depending on the model.
This means it recharges continuously, so you’ll never have to replace a battery.
Fewer batteries in the waste stream mean that you will be making a positive contribution towards saving our environment, and creating a sustainable future.
A total of 7.2 million Eco-Drive watches were sold between 2005 & 2007. As Eco-Drive watches are powered by light, 7.2 million batteries were removed from the waste stream and ultimately the environment. To put this in context, if 7.2 million batteries were piled on top of each other, the stack would be 1.7 x the height of Mount Everest.
Can you see the need for change? Join the Time4 Change movement and wear a watch that cares.
