September 2010 marks the 2nd anniversary of the Durban Commitment. The commitment is an international agreement that was signed in 2008 by eThekwini Municipality and 20 pioneering local governments from around the world to protect and enhance the biodiversity in cities.
The Environmental Planning and Climate Protection Department (EPCPD), eThekwini Municipality has teamed up with renowned theatre icon Ellis Pearson to put together a theatre production, called Man up a Tree, which highlights the importance of biodiversity and the role that we as individuals can play in preserving what we have.
