From a pallet to a palette of unique fold out chairs & tables
By:

A London design company, Gas&Air Studios, takes the thousands of old shipping pallets that continue to fill landfill sites throughout the country and converts them into a vibrant range of unique fold out chairs and tables.

Each piece is made from a single wooden pallet and combines strength of form and environmentally aware design. No extra treatment is used on the wood and the paint is chemical free. 80cm long, 40cm wide and only 10cm high when folded down, they are easily stacked and stored and are available in 14 different colours.

But even recycling pallets creates some waste, right?

Via Inhabitat comes news that Gas&Air is using the leftover wood to create yet another piece of recycled furntiure. The XChair (see image bottom right) is both strong and chunky, but is easily dismantled into two pieces for easy storage and transport.

With this unique little chair, Gas&Air is certainly taking waste reduction to a new level.
